If you have the time, take Skaggs out to the coast and then go north past Point Arena taking 128 back. It's quite a long drive, but the sights you see and the roads you drive (or ride if you take a motorcycle) are incredible. There's typically very little traffic that far north too.
Great suggestion. Might I add Point Arena is a great place, if making the long drive up there, minus well check out Point Arena Lighthouse. They do have mini tours to go up the lighthouse.

Zen House is also a cool place to stop by if you're into motorcycles too. They usually have a number of awesome classics in their garage for service/on display.

Some other routes that I occasionally go for as well (very dependent on weather):

- Highway 1 north to Point Reyes and further up to Bodega Bay.

- I used to hit Lake Berryessa (Hwy 128) When I went to school around there. Havn't been with the M though.
128 is a blast! My family owns a winery on that road (Nichelini Family Winery). Anytime I make it up there the road to and from is always the highlight
