I have all of the Bmw special tools and such from when I was a bmw tech...Iím in north Florida and donít mind helping here and there. Timing the vanos is very easy once youíve done a few. Also can fix solenoids as well. (Broken solder joints)

I'm in the north Orlando area and done a few locals vanos at this point. You can hit me up directly if you'd like a hand or you can drop your car off with Curtis at WTF Motorsports and I'll come in and do it.

Hell yeah! Vouch for this guy.

I actually bought a rebuilt vanos unit from Anthony from the FS section. It comes preinstalled with all the anti-rattle and all the other bits. I had PSI install it.

It turned out to be cheaper that way since I didnít really pay for the vanos rebuild labor just remove and replace. That might be another option.

Just chiming in to put in a good word for Curtis at WFT Motorsports.

I went to Curtis in 2015 to get my s54 refreshed. He completed inspection 2, valve adjustment, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, new rotors, pads and sensors all around, differential seals, differential flush, brake and transmission flush, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, cpv valve, spark plugs, hoses and a few other things to get the car as close to OE spec as possible.

I had him also inspect the vanos while in there because I wanted to get the besian parts to have him bulletproof it; but after inspection, he said my vanos didn't need to be touched because it looked perfect and everything looked tight ... no play between the hub and oil pump disc, no leaks on the steals etc. He did replace the cam bolts for good measure.

When I picked up the car everything was flawless. Pulls hard and smooth, no rattles or leaks of any kind. Car had 66k miles in 2015 when Curtis serviced it, and now has 68k and change. It's a weekend driver (I don't drive a lot to begin with). For reference the car is 06 ZCP. Prod: 10/2005.

I may eventually buy a rebuild vanos and have it installed by him or a local DIYer or PSI (they are good too) if the car begins to show signs, but for now I'm comfortable with Curtis' assessment. Curtis is responsive, stands by his work and is always available to help.

FYI if you guys have the vanos apart, do it all....otherwise youll be pulling it back apart agian. do the rattle kit, guide, bolts. everything.

and buy parts from fcp. its about $350 to do it right with oem seals/gaskets. every time if you buy elsewhere
