Default Evolve Airbox, Going into Limp mode

Hey guys i just installed my used evolve airbox then i bought from a friend, and since it was his before the tune is vin locked to him, so i am going to have to get a tune. Anyways i installed everything and he said it would be alright if i gave it a spin just to hear it because why not and i went for a little drive and finally was able to floor it and the car went into limp mode, It had EML/traction light and yellow brake light. I have seen a video of someone driving their car without the tune and he was ripping it and it was all fine. I got a code for the MAF and thats it. I am confused why this is happening and if i need a tune to drive it, i am planning on getting a tune, i am just confused why i cant floor it without a tune. Let me add also that the car idles perfect and drives normally perfect, its just at WOT(full throttle) it gives out into limp mode

holy orange font batman, I had to copy your text into notepad to be able to read anything
of course you need a tune to drive it...You can't just install an airbox and just drive with no tune..

Check the throttle bodies and linkage aren't catching on any clamps etc

Come to think of it, it's more than likely this is the case too. Probably one of the clamps is catching on throttle body linkage

No tune means that it will go into limp mode. Evolve uses the MAF wiring to connect to the temp sensor. That won't work without the needed programming...

Figured it out thanks to you guys, checked my hose clamps and it was right in front of the throttle actuator arm and at full throttle would hit it, I would have never thought of this without you guys, i really appreciate it. Jake

A lot of people change out the factory clamps , I like the factory clamps because of the clearance, and I also have the correct tool to remove and install them. The only time i would change the clamps is if the engine is boosted IMO
