Could the rear quarter panel be pulled to make it look somewhat good from a distance? The front end repair shouldn’t be too bad.

Thank you everyone! This forum is a great community. I'm honestly not sure what the future is for either me or the car.

Yes lmfti, I was the last of the four cars to wreck before lunch.

I wanted an instructor for the wet session as it was my first time driving in the rain. Since I was solo'd my instructor got assigned to a Sunday-only student that was more green than me. My instructor tried to get a replacement for me and that request was denied. In hindsight I should have just went back to the paddock, but every instructor I've spoken to has always said driving in the rain is a good teaching tool - so I decided to go out and try to learn. I honestly don't know if I'll continue with HPDE. I don't want to trash the club as they seem like a good group that cares, but they need to get more accountability for the instructors to actually show up to grid.

As far as the car goes it really depends what my shop says. If the chassis is still in good shape I might just cage it and go full racecar. If it needs to get scrapped then I'll likely just part it out. I love the car and it did it's job to keep me safe, going to do what I can to keep it on the road.

It should be noted that I was wearing the Schroth Quick Fit Pros with HANS. The seatbelt tensioner definitely did it's job. My waist is in alot of pain but I was able to walk away mostly unscathed.

Glad to hear that you're ok man! This is prolly why I will never track my car (at least my street M). They say if you can't afford to write your car off, then don't track it-lol. Was gonna say if the chassis/structurally the car is ok...then cosmetic stuff can be repaired/replaced. Albeit, it won't be cheap, but if you really like the car...then repairing would at least be an option to consider. GL w/whatever you decide man, and if you need help w/anything...you know I'm local.

i lost my e30 ITS car in the rain at summit point many years ago. a stream develops across turn 4 when it rains. caught a bunch of us off guard from one lap to the next. good luck no matter what winds up happening.

Thanks. I didn't get track insurance. Just normal road insurance. I don't think I'll be submitting a claim.

I know someone you may want to talk to who does repairs on track cars and isn't insanely expensive. DM if interested. I talked to him before track insurance wrote off my car.

Glad you are ok and that just sucks. I took my entire passenger side out at Homestead Fl back in Feb. I wasnt wearing a harness like you and I was pretty beat up for a few days. I have the full kit now.
I had Hagerty Track insurance and they did me pretty good and I ended up with a full paint job. I paid some extra bucks to do the rest of the car.
Just for FYI the quarter panels are hard to find in the junk yard but they are on ECS for $1850. I think the labor on it is 24hrs. There is additional labor cost in the disassembly of the bits around it.
Good Luck

Damn man, at least your ok. Time to buy an E36 M3 and swap the drive line over. I don't think your current car is worth fixing unless you really really really want too lol
