Default Poor man's Euro headers

I will probably end up buying the Megan headers but just to keep up my SS welding skills up I thought I would cut out the cats on the NA headers and weld in a 2" dia SS pipe and see how it works out.
Looks like the PO took the lazy route by smashing out the catalyst.
The last pic you can see what a nice job BMW did blending the pipes together,
a lot of aftermarket headers aren't any where near that nice.

Why did you cut outside the o2 port on the cylinder 1-3 header? You should have only cut the cat out on both banks.

Should be a straight section of pipe, right?

2” is too small if you want to “do it right” and not choke your flow! 2 1/4 would be better. I’ve been making some full sets if you want some info/help. Imho if you can do SS...go 2.5 w a custom sec 1 and get them tuned...no need to buy headers.

Here’s the jig

They were already ghetto stepped headers!

That's pretty cool. I thought about doing something similar just for fun awhile back since US OEM headers are so inexpensive and readily available.
