Default Re: Leaking Power Steering Pressure Hose - WHat to do ?

I replaced mine new and it was leaking again on the next oil change, very bad design. Its a very slow leak that is just wet around the joint hoses rather than a dripping leak, I check the PS reservoir every now and then and dont need to add any fluid ever.

Has it effected the stiffness of the steering yet?

Here's a question: does anyone have an explanation as to why the hose is as long as it is and routed like this?

Mine blew out the other night... I have a surplus of -6 teflon hose, so I'm probably going to build my own replacement.

I built my own hose this evening, installed on car and refilled the system. Too late for a drive but I'll get to that tomorrow. I have pictures if anyone is interested.

I'm assuming the length is there to allow for some cooling, but more than likely in the real world (at least non-track), you could get away with taking out most of the length. I'd rather see the whole thing either Aeroquip hose or hard piped. Those crimp joints always seem troublesome.

At least it has a two year warranty!
