Default No Castrol TWS Motorsport but Shell Helix Ultra Racing

a few weeks ago i brought my M to the dealer for inspection 2.
After i picked up my car and paid 1100 euro for inspection 2 i had a short conversation with the M certified mechanic and he told me that adjusting the valves of my M was a very intensive job (3 hours totally with replacing spark plugs).

The mechanic also told me that he doesn,t put Castrol TWS Motorsport into the engine but Shell Helix Ultra Racing 10w60. Specifications and performance of this oil should be exactly the same as Castrol he said......

Strange enough i noticed that my engine produces a more rougher sound than before the valves were adjusted and the oil was refreshed, especially with a cold start.......

Now i am a little bit curious what,s the reason of this is........valves maybe not adjusted right or is it the Shell oil......?

That's strange to see mechanic put other oil instead of manufacturer recommended.

Probably should make them put that in writing. especially if you are still under warranty

Thats not true. Veedol is also approved, but I haven't seen it sold in the US.

well its all oil and it has the same Specs of the Castrol.. 10w60
But for the changing of sound.. maybe the new filter and plugs gave the car a boost..

That,s correct. Ferrari also use this oil for more of their engines

If i do a short search on google i only read positive things and reviews about this oil.
