Default Servicing costs

Hi guys,

Just returned from my 2,500 mile round trip to Spain and back in the M3, and boy what a car!!! It just handled everything I threw at it. I shared the driving with a mate, and at times we were doing a steady 120/130mph down the motorways with consummate ease. Some of the G's we were pulling round long sweeping U bends was incredible!!

Best I managed to make was 145mph going down one stretch of road. I felt it could have carried on, but the road was coming to a bend, and having to pass a big van down a two lane road with a bend approaching I decided to throw out the anchors.

Unfortunately, all that driving, and the cars telling me it needs a service. Luckily, it's only an oil service, so shouldn't be too pricey, although it's now 700 miles overdue!!

Anyone give me an indication of what I should be looking to pay? I've only phoned up one garage so far, and asked for a quote for the oil service and re-setting the service lights, and the bloke started banging on about how this and that would need to be looked at, and I just really started getting the impression that he was trying to take me for a ride? So, please let me know what you think is a resonable sum to pay for the above?

Cheers to all of you.

220usd isn't that like 8 gbp?

just kidding /

Just out of curiosity what costs the 220. It only takes 65 for oil and filters in my e36. Just curios.

I got told 80 for the oil, 7 for the oil filter plus labour which was about half hour. That's at an indy.

Can anyone answer me then, when the oil service is carried out, do the service lights get re-set, or do the service lights only get re-set after an inspection I/II?

Thanks
