Default 2011 E90 M3: ESS Supercharged VT1-535 Dyno Results

Another example of a supercharged beast hitting the SoCal streets.

With an aggressive appearance and the power to match, Charles' 2011 M3 is equipped with an ESS's entry level VT1-535 (non-intercooled) Supercharger system. With stock X-Pipe and Vanguard exhaust, this 4-door M3 put down 479whp, very consistent with the other 535 systems dynoed in the past in our facility.

Great build, awesome photo, and amazing results as always!

Thanks for sharing Tom! I think he needs to start freeing up the exhaust a tad and hit closer to 500whp

Agreed. X-Pipe would really wake this car up.

Seriously, I need to start carrying around these photos in my pocket every time I head to the DynoJet. I have tried 4 different DynoJet shops and among those 4, only one had sufficient cooling. You guys know how to setup a dyno and provide consistent results!

I feel like I should just buy my own squirrel cage fan and carry it around with me when I go to the dyno!

Any reason why the owner chose a NON-intercooled supercharger?

Tom always takes some great photos. That's why I always include them in the Dyno Database entries with the cars.

Those are just carpet fans. You can rent them from an industrial cleaning shop, but bring extension cord(s).

I'll go with the 50% higher price answer. Were they all the same price, I think most people would choose the one that is intercooled and makes the most power.
