Default Heat Shields & Thermal Barriers

I've been thinking about adding heat shields to lower intake temps more and found this website, www.heatshieldproducts.com.

Specifically this product,

What do you guys think about wrapping the intake manifold with this stuff? Looks pretty promising.

My thoughts are - why just the intake manifold? At first blush I would think the air is already warm by the time it gets there and won't be traveling much further. Perhaps more effective to "keep it cool" further down the line? No experience with this stuff on a blown engine, but that gold wrapping is a little more common (and easier, common sense) on an NA engine.

I like the idea, I just don't like how bad it will look even if done carefully. I would prefer to go the route of ceramic coating.

On my last turbo car I had the turbine housing ceramic coated and there was hardly any heat coming off the cast iron housing, LESS heat than the aluminum compressor housing actually. If it does that good at keeping heat out, it will do the same manner as keeping heat from getting in. And, it'll look nice
