Question Vorsteiner V-CSL Carbon Fiber Boot Lid Leaking

Hey everyone, got a quick question. Does anyone else that has this boot lid have issues when washing your car of water getting in the trunk? Everytime I wash my car I notice water has leaked into the trunk when I go to dry that area.

Is the stock weather stripping around the trunk too short/not right for this boot lid? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could be an alignment issue. So many people (and shops) attempt installs with poor results.

You can try a brand new seal from BMW if you're positive the alignment is correct. PN: 51718226715

My VCSL does not leak.

Ok i know this will sound really crazy but mine did the same (different brand). The best way to figure this out is grab a light or flash light climb in the trunk shut it then have a friend or fam spray down the entire trunk until you can see where it was comming from. One of the housings around my tail lights was cracked and the water was commi g in throught there....

This is a good idea (minus having the water drip on you in the trunk ) but I think even just the flash light at night could work. Having someone in the trunk shine light around the seal in the dark you should be able to see where the light pokes through from outside the car. I don't think it's my tail lights, I seems to come from the area where the trunk meets the window as I can see the water "line/area" in the trunk and the seal is wet there. Just not sure how it's getting in.

Pics to come. Thanks.

Glad I'm not the only one I bought the car with the boot lid so I can't comment on the install but it looks pretty lined up. I will take close up pics though, here's how it looks from different angles..

Alignment is incorrect I think. Maybe adjust either the catch lower or rear down.

Scott, that looks poorly installed.

Needs proper adjustment to sort your issues. Look at the gaps, they aren't even close to even. Look at the forward portion of the deck height, you can see your damn hinge lifts!
