I've been looking for a E36 M3 for a while. I was looking for a 96+ coupe in Dakar or Techno with black hurricane cloth interior, low mileage and unmolested.
After months of searching for that perfect M3 I settled for this... ![]() ![]() The specs... 94 M3, Japanese import (yes fully eurospec), alpine, low mileage, 2 small rust spots and the only mods are the stupid wheels and ... ![]() Yes, DTM tips. ![]() I almost forgot it also has... ![]() I figured 3 out 5 of my original list isn't bad especially with a bunch of euro goodies as a bonus. ![]() Now for the plan. I'm thinking of just building a nice clean eurospec M3 with some OEM+ touches. Nothing crazy. I have no E36 experience so I hope to lean on the forum for info and help. I'll try and keep this thread up to date but don't expect crazy progress. My last build... ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice! Alpine white and Euro motor. Great combo. Not because I have one as well, no I have one, because it's a great combo.
Personally not into cloth seats, but the US folks seems to adore them (probably because 99% came with leather). You can make this perfect with a few small changes, like you pointed out. And fit a 3 spoke (any model) OEM wheel to replace that archaic 4 spoke abomination. First thing though: clean up that 'bay! And fit a fresh (not yellow) coolant tank.

Looks to be a Supersprint muffler, and the old school RD wheels are kinda cool.
Nice score! Congrats |

I like the wheels. Period correct. In fact I'm sure I made this combo on TireRack's revolutionary (at the time) website where you could pick the car/color and change the wheels. c. 1996

Absolutely. The new steering wheel is on its way from Poland. You'll have to wait a few months before I tackle the interior. I'll replace the coolant tank when I do a coolant system overhaul. I'm trying to figure out how much I need to replace. There is a lot of info on US spec coolant systems but not much on the Euro cars. I know they don't share any parts. Any advice on what needs to be replaced? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm glad so many people like the wheels. It should make them easy to sell. I'm thinking about running DSIIs or maybe some Alpina wheels. We'll see what pops up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The euro cars have a different cooling system setup more akin to the S54 than the US spec. The water pumps are far more robust and far more expensive, the expansion tank is not as fragile and the thermostat is identical to the S54. The radiator remains a plastic/aluminium affair and is subject to the broken neck that is common on the US spec cars. How many miles on this car? What is the production date?
