All,

I've been watching this thread over the past several days and the Intravee sounds pretty great.

However, most of what I read is about iDevice connectivity.

I've got an 04 M3 vert which came with the non-nav business CD. I replaced it with an aftermarket head unit which supports hands free calling and playing music via bluetooth no matter the external device. It also supports 75% of the steering wheel controls.

The downside of the aftermarket head unit is that it looks 'aftermarket'. I really do prefer the BMW look. But I'm sacrificing looks for features.

I've read through the posts but have not been able to download from any of the links.

I'd really like to know if when the Intravee is connected it supports the following. If it does, I'm going to make the jump.

1) Hands free calling using bluetooth on my cell phone.
2) Music through the car speakers via bluetooth and an android or iDevice.
3) At least 75% use of steering wheel controls.

Any advice/thoughts is appreciated.

Hmm, I'll have to look into the links. I'm using dropbox to host everything, but maybe I should move it over to my own server....

1) Yes.... using the OEM bluetooth module. Which also gives you voice dialing (which you summon by holding the phone button on the steering wheel), on car screen caller ID, and on screen phone book.
2) No
3) 100% steering wheel control functionality.

I just tried a couple of the download links on another computer (where I'm not logged into M3forum or dropbox), and they worked fine. Which exactly isn't working for you?

When I try to do a direct download of the supplemtary additional features PDF, I get "IE cannot display the web page".

Also...thanks for your reply on my questions. Unfortunately, the No on (2) is a show stopper as is having to add the OEM bluetooth module.

I'm also looking into use of one of the aftermarket double din which are talked about a lot within other forums.

Great read, thanks a lot!

One stupid question: after having it installed, what is the best option to get Bluetooth music AD2P?

Cheers!

I use the Intravee II / KCA-420i combo in a 2003 Range Rover which was a BMW design (M62 engine and iBus).

It works great to replace the CD changer and integrates with steering wheel controls for changing song and volume control.
I tried the Lighning connector adapter for iPhone5 and it works great to use an iPhone5 with this solution. My greatest discovery is that I can use the Spotify app on iPhone to stream music into the Range Rover stereo system. Its the top Vogue spec with Harman Kardon equipment and the BMW DSP unit and it sounds great. If I select a Spotify playlist on the phone I can navigate songs in that list using the steering wheel buttons while the songs stream from the Internet. I am not sure what firmware is in my Intravee, its what came with the unit.
I got so excited about the Spotify revelation that I bought one extra pair of KCA-420i/Intravee II to keep as a spare
Obioban are you the guy maintaining the firmware nowadays ? Thanks for providing info about the intravee II and what it can do.
I will want to see if I can accomplish the park distance control indication.

No, Richard P maintains the code, but he watches this thread!

Update the firmware and you'll be able to do the pdc stuff, as well as lots of other fun stuff
