Default Ran a 13s flat quarter mile, reckon I can get twelves?

Hi there

For fun I took my track car to the 1/4 mile Santa Pod (a touch uphill) for a quarter mile run:

Car was in track geo and regular road pressures of 33psi front and 35psi rear.

First run: 2.355s 60FT, 6.02s 330FT, 8.93s@85.87mph 1/8, 13.4793@109.11mph

On the first run I just ran gear box in S3 all the way, bit slow on gear changes.

Second run: 2.165s 60FT, 5.70s 330FT, 8.56s@87.38mph 1/8, 13.0439@110.18mph

Once into second gear I moved SMG from S3 upto S6, faster gear changes and getting on power quicker helped.

Then it rained, was gonna try an S6 run all the way and get into WOT quicker, think it would of got a high 12 then?

Here is a video of my 13s run.

Nice, pretty quick time-congrats! What's your mod list? Any weight reduction?

A lot of weight reduction its a track car built to CS spec, so still my driver on the road too, rear cage, buckets, harnesses etc.

All infotainment, AC, air bags, seatbelts removed etc. It weighs around 1300kg with fuel, but should be down to 1250kg next month.

Still road legal, still has full interior in front, carpeted in rear.

Power wise nothing major just NA bolt-ons, CSL air box, CSL ECU, map sensor, TTFS tune, euro headers, de-cats, stock exhaust.

Second run I walked off the line in S3, then booted it, once into 2nd gear I went into S6 which gave me 13s flat.

First run I did whole run in S3, gear changes too slow.

Shame it rained as 3rd run I was going to try a run in S6 all the way and 4th run maybe give the LC a go. Then I would have fiddled with tyre pressures as I was just running what it said on door jam.

Tyres are MPSS 255/40/18 square setup by the way.

Did you use launch control and did you use it corectly? I think it's go to the floor slow to raise rpms to 4k (with csl tune) before dumping the clutch.

The SMG royally sucks off the line in any non-launch control situation. If you're just hitting the gas from a stop you're giving up tons of 60ft time.

I would think with a proper launch you'd be in the 12s easily as-is.

Oh, for sure! If he could improve his 60' time by even 1/2 a tenth...that would put him in the 12's!
