to those still about to install this, please check that the shifter cup has a roll pin or some other positive retention mechanism to hold it onto the main carrier.

mine (which i bought 4 years ago) ended slowly dislodging that cup until it completely came loose and i lost shifter linkage. i contacted ronald who then suggested i insert a roll pin to better retain the cup in the carrier. he said he will also update the design to incorporate this.

I would have gone 0% if it was a Group buy option. Still pleased.

A SSK is one of the best upgrades for these cars

Does anyone know how the AS kit compares to UUC? Seems like AS gets the most love.

How difficult is this to install DIY? I have jacks, axle stands, tools etc and generally perform my own repairs, maintenance & modifications.

just out of curiosity, why are SSKs desirable? is it just an effort thing with the SSK, or does an SSK make throws "lighter?"

For me it was to clean up sloppiness. The short throw requires more effort, it feels more mechanical, less mushy than stock, I prefer it that way.

I had both, started with UUC, it was a good improvement over stock but the AS was more precise and tighter. The next step for you guys is the F10 M5 knob, completes the package nicely.

Install is not bad, good time to change you guibo and Center support bearing since you will be in there anyway.
