Default Re: CSL intake question

CSL intake sound is addicting.

Like the CSL gurus here said, don't worry too much about the splicing etc, you don't have to if you don't want to. You can order the "contacts for DME" and all other associated parts from the list in the picture below (pictures / instructions borrowed from M3forum and it's awesome members).

One piece of advice though, you'll be 90% there so please do yourself a favor and have a working flap. The sound / emotion generated when the flap opens at 3,500 RPM is truly something else. Watching the flap open when you're showing it to another enthusiast / friends etc has a certain cool factor to it, all the while knowing you made it all happen with your DIY install!

Here are the two sheets I used for my initial install and then to trouble shoot my map sensor wiring since I had wired the GM sensor from TTFS improperly the first time around.

A little eye candy

ordering/collecting of parts has officially begun. My worst fear is that im going to do this and get messed up on the coding/loading/wiring part and then ill be stuck with a use m3 until either A. can figure it out or B. go back to stock and cry myself asleep for many nights knowing i just wasted a ton of money but 10/10 worth the risk for that noise

You'll be fine. If you get stuck just do a detailed post on the forum as I did and you're guaranteed to get a valid answer as the senior members start chiming in. I forgot to add this image of my order, it's the sockets for the IAT sensor and the flap motor (both use the 2 wire socket - ecs item # 31215 - quantity needed 2) and the socket for the flap position sensor (this is the 3 wire socket - ecs item # 31208 - quantity needed 1).

Good luck man
