Default Re: F80 M3 Seat Retrofit

I made 2 days and 2000miles trip in a M4 with electric/memory/heated seats and loved the way they perfectly fit. The confort they provide is superb and the iluminated logo is delicious at night. Also, imo the bucket style (integrated headrest) suits much more the M propose/design.

Can stop thinking how much i wanted to retrofit them into my e46. My car also has electric/memory/heated seats but cant find a confort position. Do you think that it is possible to retain all the current features with the f82 seats? Would the e46 seat modules work with the f82 seat motors?

With 600hp crank, the seats weight is not a concern for me.

Those look better than the e46 seats and are probably more supportive also. Weight wise I am not too thrilled about it though. If it was 56 lbs including the mounting brackets, then it would only be slightly lighter than stock, but nowhere near Recaro Sportsters CS's.

FWIW, I am in the middle of fitting just that in to my car at they weight 37 lbs. I am working on a custom mounting bracket and am trying to keep the total weight of the seat at about 41 lbs, which is exactly 20 lbs lighter a stock electric seat (61 lbs).
So, the F80's seats would not offer much, if any weight savings over stock seats.

Unless I got them insanely cheap. ($1000) for a full, i would never consider it. Id personally rather some spprtsters and rear delete. Save weight, better looks, better seat.
I took my stock seats out yesterday and could not believe how unbelievably inefficiently they are designed.

The ones in Mike's SGT e46m is oem front m3/4 seats but I believe the rear are fully custom made to match. Looks awesome but would rather get Imola wrapped sportser CS's

reviving an old thread. but some fun fact:

mike had to make a small adapter bracket, since the rails on the F8X seats are narrower. rear seats kind have to be shoe-horned in. and trimmed up in a few areas.

also, the donor of the cloth seats is from soofy619's wide body F80 M3
