57.6 lbs

That includes the airbag in the seat which could probably be removed for another 5-10 lbs.

are manually adjustable seats an option on the F80?
I wonder if the electric seats can be safely spliced and wired up

If SGT comes out with brackets for this at a sweet price then I'd be all over this mod if you can get the F80 seats for half the price of Recaros !

I see little point in a seat replacement if you aren't going to save any weight.

But that cloth interior matches up with the SG CF doors quite nicely.

Comfort is a pretty good reason

And if those built in side airbags can be made to work with the stock electronics, could be a good way of having CSL door panels without losing safety.

More interested in the rear seats. Aren't the f82 arent seats supposed to be much lighter than previous generations?

I actually think the factory seats in our cars fit the interior perfectly (modern enough to blend with the rest of the interior but not flashy enough to make our center console/gauges look any more dated). But this can be a good alternative for those that want factory bmw seats.

you know our cars are old when we start retrofitting parts from newer models

i actually took some photos of this. it looked like they had fabricated a bracket to retrofit the seats.

the rears were custom reupholstered to match the fronts.

BMW seats are really expensive new. i don't see this being a cost saving option at all unless you get lucky to find a set of used cheap. which isn't going to be easy.
and then there's the weight, not light.

Would be sick to see some f8X comp seats in a e46 but the luck of finding those for sale will be very minimal.

E46 seats suck compared to the f8X, they are not as comfy or hugging as the f8X.

And no manual F8X seats unfortunately.
