Default Service Manual???

WTF?
I have a E92 and was considering some mods however is there no service manuals on these cars??????

I need to know technical stuff like torque specs , etc etc.

I had a corvette and it had like a 2 book service manual for everything about the car...showed everything and how to take everything apart...torque specs, electric wiring diagrams ...EVERYTHING!!! ......does the M3 really have nothing ????

I gotta get my hands dirty when I do mods. I need to do it myself and or inspect and correct what others do for me....had this happen a million times. Without the service manual your like naked.....Especially with the cost of the mods on this thing. I moved my corvette from 430 hp to 700 with a supercharger, exhaust headers, meth and larger injectors, kenne bell boost a pump etc etc. cost me about 12 to 13k max....

How are you guys modding this thing without the manual?......I might leave this one alone and go buy a modification play toy like a Dodge Challenger or GTO....

The OP is talking about the service manual, not the owner's manual.

Unfortunately, one of the joys of ownership of a BMW is not having a service manual. They are pricks of the highest order at BMW in this case. Completely inexcusable. It's to 'protect' themselves from independent service centers. How about make your service centers competitive instead? [/rant]

Anyway, you can try your luck with a google translation of a Russian bootleg copy of the factory manual, the TIS here:

TIS

Good luck!

OMG....this is total crap...anyone want to buy a M3.
If I had known this when I bought the car, I honestly would not have bought it.
Love the car, but part of my love is working on them...l I wont be paying a ton for an extended warranty...taking my car in and being at the mercy of BMW dealership forever is pathetic.

Have you seen this:

http://bmw.workshop-manuals.com

Also, Bentley Publishers has an e9x manual. Not sure if it covers the M3. I have the e46 version and find it very useful (it does cover the M3).

You can pay for TIS online:

https://www.bmwtechinfo.com/

Or, you can get a copy of the BMW TIS on eBay for up to 2008 I believe before BMW cut off access.

You need to find BMW TIS DVD set. BMW will not sell them to you, but they are available on the internet at various places. I have two versions: 2007 and 2012. Both cover the M3. I've never been able to get 2012 to work, but 2007 works fine and like I said, covers the M3. You can occasionally find this DVD available on torrent sites.

You can also pay $30 per day at https://www.bmwtechinfo.com to get online access to BMW technical documentation and service manuals. You can't download the manuals, but you can access them. This is an official BMW site.

Good luck.

Thanks! ....ebay has some CDs for sale around 20 bucks. Unsure which one to buy...there are allot of different ones. Any possibility you could look on ebay and see if you can link me to the same dvd that you have?
