the picture with the red backing tape confuses me a little. when you are wedging the weather stripping into the FSF i would assume you put the side of the weather stripping with the backing tape on it towards the top of the FSF (where you wouldn't see the red tape cuz its inside). i am obviously missing something there, is there a step i'm skipping over?

also when you say remove the backing tape up to the point where you wedged in the weather stripping, i assume this means from the back of the FSF to the corner and not the corner to where the door meets, right?

That picture was an attempt to show where to cut the weather stripping while explaining that the red strip was the backing on the weather stripping adhesive. The horrible quality of the picture made it difficult to see what the red strip actually was.

When you push the spine of the weather stripping down into the FSF track near the elbow, you will not be able to see the red backing. This will then give you the natural alignment you need to place the weather stripping down the FSF. It will also keep the stripping from kinking up around the elbow bend. Once you are into the process, you will see what I am talking about.

Correct. You will start removing the backing tape on the weatherstripping at the same location of the picture you previously questioned. As you pull off the backing down towards the elbow, you will not be able to get to the backing that is down in the spine, or at least not easily. Simply pull the backing until it snaps off. You will not have to worry about the backing or adhesion down in the track because the stripping is tightly wedged in there.

I honestly can't see there being an issue with this, but again...we are kind of pioneering the process at this point.

Hey, thanks! It is even cheaper than in autocrazone, no tax either! Since I have Prime, no shipping charges as well.

hose test for what? this trim does not seal water out of the car. the actual seal is on the inside of the window
