ITT: owners of conservative/run of the mill colored M3s telling owners of highly sought after colored M3s their cars are overpriced. Not the first time and certainly not the last.

As per the seller:

Edit: after being in the market for the right LSB last year, I very quickly learned about the premium involved.

Obviously the listing has been taken down, what was perfect about the car that made it go for ~$30k?

I recall seeing a 2002 M3 here with 60k miles with grey interior but no one bought it at $21k...

That's a question for the new owner.

It was LSB so a bit of a premium. What color was the one you are referring too?

I find it funny that people sit here and point out seat bolster wear and dirty carpets on 10+ year old cars. as if wear/tear shouldn't be there.

by the time you guys are done asking your questions about subframe/vanos/recalls, these types of cars already have a deposit on them and a plane ticket booked. because someone out there doesnt mind risking $500 of deposit money/travel cost to acquire a rare color. mean while less serious buyers kick back and try to bargain. that's not how you snatch a rare color off the market.

Op said mint. Car was not mint. That was the basis of said conversation. No one here probably wanted to snatch it up and personally, I think there are better deals to be had and if not, oh well, plenty of other cool cars to fart around in.

Seriously, insert pic of LSB m3's in the parking lot of a MFG plant proceeded by a number of declarations how "common" this ugly color car is..
Who cares,
Good for the buyer and seller.

Market is nuts for certain examples but it just never ceases to amaze me what some people place such a high value on. Cloth seats? Really? Who on earth would rather have cloth over mint black leather?

What strikes me as odd is the very clean looking 03/bone stock/90k miles/slicktop/Tiag/Cloth/6MT listed on the forum that isn't selling for $15k and yet people will pay TWICE that amount for lower mileage and a rare color, otherwise similar spec.

Absolute insanity. Virtually identical cars save for mileage and exterior color. Mind you, I'm not saying the LSB was overpriced but rather than I'm stunned by peoples' priorities, sometimes. I could remodel my entire kitchen and both bathrooms for $15k.
