I use that same kind of jack pad, and I use a piece of 4x4 between the jack and the pad to get extra height. Or you can jack up the car and put ramps or wood under the wheels, then move the jack to the subframe or diff, or front subframe. I use Harbor Freight stands and hockey pucks but I would rather have a flat top jack stand. The ones posted on the first page look nice.

ended up ordering a set of rhinoramps (for light work) and ESSOs (for heavy work).

Or just buy actual hockey pucks and use them under your jack stands. Works like a charm.

I have seen a failure of the factory trunk jack jack point when jacking above the height of changing a tire. I donít recommend this.
