Default Factory Alarm Key Fob

So i just got this car running and am trying to figure out the key fob i pressed every button and the battery works but nothing happens any ideas? The car came with a factory alarm i found under glove box and this was the fob the PO gave me but i forgot to ask how it worked. Thanks guys

is your car a 95/96? it's the first gen alarm system. If it ever stops working there's a chip inside of it that is the "brain" that sometimes falls out of the circuit board. You can also reprogram the brain with a box in the car. I can't seem to remember where the box is though... i believe it's in the trunk? someone can probably clarify.

Actually curious if said box in trunk is related to the alarm system.
Just recently peeled back my carpet for installing shocks and saw a pretty important looking box, but I have no alarm/siren (don't know what to call it) in my engine bay, nor a fob for keyless entry. I'm 99% sure I don't have it, but still wouldn't mind knowing what the box is for.

If it was on the drivers side near the shock mount and had two connectors plugged into it, you are probably talking about the amp for the stereo.

So that did happen and then i put the chip in, never tried it before but it doesnt work. I have power to the yellow wire but it doesnt work with everything plugged in. Also the LED doesnt come on and does not have 5.3 volts like i read its supposed to at purple wire
