Ancient torsion bar suspension, oil return tubes prone to leaking, head studs that'll likely pull out of the block, snap oversteer, a gear stick as precise as a fork in a bowl of spaghetti, archaic cabin temp controls... Despite these things, I still like the Turbo 911 a whole lot.

I still giggle that that interior (996) came on a car that cost $120,000 in 2001 which is the equivalent of like $150k+ today

IMO the 993 and 996 are the only generations that aged badly. Well, I guess the 996 was never seen as beauty, but the 993 used to look good until you see it next to a previous generation or a new one.

So much this I look at 996 Turbo classifieds sometimes, but as soon as I come across any other 911 I snap out of it.

My biggest pet peeve of the 993 (aside from the melty bubble body look) is the side profile of where the front fender meets the headlights. I hate how it slopes forward instead of almost cutting straight down.

The headlights were a debacle IMO.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though, eh?
