I use mine about half the time to be honest. If its not going to work for shit would rather not even get the unit. Seems impossible to find something to replace my oem headnav unit (OEM looking, CarPlay, decent radio reception, bluetooth).

I ran the cable on the passenger side which means it runs with the battery cable, so this may not have been the best choice. I'm curious if anyone who has run the cable on the driver's side could comment. I'm actually pretty pleased so far. It sleeps, therefore opens right away and doesn't require a two minute boot, all the apps are working and not crashing in the background. To be honest, I don't use the radio anymore anyway, so the reception isn't an issue.

Okay so i have routet it along the driver side because i had the fear that i would get alot of noise and stuff because of the battery cable, my radio reception is totally fine. just like it was with the oem nav. I do have the oem antenna though so keep that in mind.

As for dab+...thats another story my dab+ is awful to none existent. Was fine when i installe dit and test it at my parents house, but only while standing there.... but at my place i have 0 rezeption at all but i think my ground for the antenna is bad since i did not remove the paint from the passenger airbad in the A pillar where i hid it. probably will try to fix that or get another antenna.

You can order the actual OEM non-nav antenna cable if you want. Part number 61126912488

Not too expensive, and is the proper length to reach the radio area from the diversity antenna module thing. And it should be properly shielded.

Probably would be cheaper to get your own cable made with the proper ends.

If you're like me and really want wireless carplay, an adapter is in the works and is set to be in stock by May 25.

What are the custom PX5 roms like, what kind of features do they give us?
Okay so i am running the Hal9k Rom now on the avant 4.

Installed flawlessly, no hicups sofar, i can specify apps that wont get killed during sleep or that should restart after sleep etc, the whole unit feels more fluid and resposnive aswell.

And you can customize so much more which i really appreciate.

Please excuse my novice question. I have an avant 2 installed in my M3 that I installed myself in 2014. It has functioned perfectly until I got my car out of storage this year. It is now inoperable. If I buy the avant 4 do I need to run all new wiring or will the wires in place work for a plug and play install? Thanks!
