With that said, these aren't difficult to flash. Every MY2004+ E46 LCM (SW 3.6+) is flashable to the latest software. And for earlier cars it's cheaper to acquire a 3.6 LCM since they're so abundant.
Can you please share how to flash to latest software? I've read your very informative post on ZHPmafia when you offered this service back in the days. Do you still do it?

Are the LED tail lights required to get the triple blink / brake flash functionality out of this LCM? I know that you need the LED tails to get the outer ring emergency brake, but I like the flashing feature and triple blink. I have the standard 2003 tails.

I have standard tails and I have triple blink on my 4.0 LCM. Pretty sure BFD is only on LEDs.

Not to thread jack, but I have a 4.0 LCM and when I swapped it in my headlights stopped working. Is this because I have xenons, and maybe the LCM came from a car with halogens? Is yours compatible with xenons? If so I'll take it, and sell my "halogen" one.
