Anyone know a good shop in the boston area or anywhere within a 2 hour drive that can do a good job doing the smg to manual conversion? Anyone knows average price to pay for shop to do everything (obtain parts + labor)? I'm looking to buy an e46 and really want manual but looks like the best prices and best condition ones are smg; so, I'm thinking i'll buy and do the conversion. But I need to factor the total price first. Thanks.

Not sure if you're still looking but Wile Motorsport (ask for Jake) and Ace Performance (ask for Baer) is pretty close to Boston. Both less than 1 hour drive.

Default Looking For A Shop In The Northeast Look Here.....

Does anyone have experience with a one-stop shop in the bergen area for Beisan/Vanos bulletproofing, subframe reinforcement and bushing replacements, and general maintenance (inspection 2, etc)? Or is it better to piecemeal things with the respective specialists?

I just purchased a 2006, took it to the dealer for the airbag recalls, and was hoping for an inspection 2 and valve adjustment. Was told adj valves wasn't necessary on an '06, and and the standard safety inspection was enough. I didnt feel too confident with the dealer after that, and cut my losses.

Any have experience with Rogue Engineering? They sell popular aftermarket parts, and have a shop, would seem to know what they are doing.

Thanks!

Reach out to Coinage (he's on the forum) and also has a Facebook page. https://m.facebook.com/coyneperformance/

I had my VANOS and subframe bulletproofed by him. Definitely an enthusiast and his prices are extremely reasonable.

Can vouch for Rogue's work. Ben who runs the shop and Lazlo his mechanic are extremely knowledgeable and VERY responsive. They are certainly expensive but you get quality work and people who you can count on to always keep you in the loop of what is going on. Both of them are track rats as well and are always at the track with me. It's piece of mind for me to have mechanic not only know the car but be readily available for issues while at the track. Not to mention they are just great people and have become friends.

Want to HIGHLY recommend AutoTechnic in New Milford, CT particularly for track work but also general maintenance. Not a short drive for me but absolutely worth it. Both Jeff and Rob are awesome guys.
