Cant believe you found this on CL. Nice find. The only time I "find" anything on CL is when another forum member graciously sends it to me which I appreciate so much.

I try using search tempest but its usually old stuff. Any tips? Like can I set up a notification for CL? Havent been able to figure that out yet.

Yeah, I'm not very advanced user, but I did use Searchtempest, and I just ran the query first thing in the morning with preset parameters, searching nationwide. I actually had several different queries saved, as I was looking for E46 and E36, wasn't sure which one I wanted. Ended up getting both.
I think you can limit how old the ad is in settings. I think I limited it to something like 2 weeks old, and that way I was getting only newly listed ones and it didn't take long to scan new ones nationwide daily. Good luck!

Thanks!

A tiny update, as I finally scored a decent x-brace on ebay for next to nothing. This was on my list, but I was not willing to pay $250 for this, so I waited. Scored this bad boy few days ago for $80 shipped! Even came with mounting hardware.

Came with this weird bumper thing, never seen this before. I'm not sure which car this came from, but my M Coupe doesn't have this:

Anyway, put the car on the lift, pull the brace. Nice and clean original color under the brace. Good.

Installed new brace without much fuss, looking good! Nice upgrade for not a lot of $$.

I don't know anyone who has confirmed this function and I've never noticed any difference boosted with wheel hop being a constant issue.

Well that is the function. But I guess you must have worn engine mounts to 'benefit' from this buffer.

Interesting, quite a convoluted explanation and a very questionable purpose, but...it was there and now I have it.

Thanks for digging this up.

I am guessing this was designed for the z coupes with their flexier chassis. Only z model xbraces had this buffer.

The verts did not

Not true, I have a Z3 M Coupe in my garage, and the brace doesn't have the buffer. Maybe it was for the roadster?

Well in the UUC article it states:
This "Buffer Stop" is a rectangular shaped piece of thick rubber that actually attaches to the front of the X-Brace toward the front of the car
In the pictures provided it looks like it is in the back. Am I confused?
