Cool story. Thanks for posting OP

But what I see daily are typical German car colors; blacks, silvers, grays and whites. They look nice, I agree, but to me the appeal is what the M cars were in the 1980s an event. Its not so much that I want to be noticed, but more that I want to stand apart from the crowd. And to me, Phoenix Yellow and Laguna Seca Blue are two of the best ways to differentiate your M3 experience from the norm.

Maybe he will be back in 2031 to answer your question.

Cool story bro. Seriously.

But what happened to the E36 while you left and came back?

@akagc: good question...I left it with a friend and eventually gave the car to a relative. Sadly, the E36 isn't in as good shape as the E30 now, but still running with a lot of miles.

BTW, I'm going to the Legends of the Autobahn (http://www.legendsoftheautobahn.org/) event tomorrow (Aug 18, 2017) in Monterey. The E30 M3 is the featured model, so hoping to see a good collection of them. If anyone on the forum is there, happy to show you the car and say hello.

Great story and she looks amazing. I hope you enjoy her and she treats you well.

How did she do at Legends? That is a tough event to place, especially when the e30 M3 is the featured mark.

Any chance this car was park right by Unit 2 on UC Berkeley Campus? I saw a white e30 in a shed last year when I was there...could this be the one?!
