Default well...

my prediction was correct the hardest thing was aligning it...i got plenty of help from daytonaviolet.. althought i didnt have to call the hotline.. just sent pictures.

and from a thread on e46fanatics.com

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...sl+diy+install

alot of the work in the above thread is not necessary if you have vcsl or oem csl trunk.. but just reading it helped me understand alot.. it is detailed..

continued from above...

remove latch, there are three torx bolts .. use a t25 torx bit

take off key lock cylinder cover, 2 x t25 torx bit

and key lock, 2 torx bolts each.. t25 torx bit again

after taking off the 2 screws from the lock cylinder you need to twist it.. i cant remember which way but it only goes one way..

remove wiring harness

be careful pulling the harness through.. it is good to tape up the connectors, etc.. i used light adhesive blue painters tape..

remove gas shock, this is held on by a little clip that you pry off with a screwdriver

remove the two torx bolts from the hinge holding the trunk on with t30 torx bit and a breaker bar because they are tight...
remove both sides...

here you see the differences in the non csl oem trunk holes and the csl trunk holes..

non csl

csl

slide the trunk up.. would help if someone is there to help but you can do it by yourself..

i will post parts list and pictures of the csl install tommorrow...

i decided to go without the tool kit because the "tool" that originally had this bootlid totally ****ed up the square wholes and the screw holes for mounting the tool kit.. some people think that if you cant see the item you are working on then it is ok to just throw it together some crappy way... i cant stand that..

i treat each step as if someone can see it... but maybe i am weird..

you can always use a 2 part epoxy and let it dry over night.

Glad to hear you have it done. Just in time for the upcoming meet. Are you looking for for a rear diffuser?
