Default After weight reduction?

For those who have gutted their car. How does the car feel compared to stock? I'm Just curious. I know weight is the biggest performance killer. I'm about to start my project(full gut/cage) and want to get an idea as to what to expect.

Like the first time you dumped your instructor and went solo, but doubled, as you can cut over 400lbs.

So much better...it feels like a new car...it gets up to speed easier and it feels like it's doing it with less effort, and the handling is much improved.

Gutted feels much lighter to get out of corners and braking is much easier. Gutted plus a full cage, a car on rails!

Coming from my first DE this past weekend, and visiting the track subforum, isn't helping me at all to avoid dumping more money on my car.

It should be quicker at acceleration due to less weight its moving. But as you shift weight out or around the car you will need to be aware of it during specific corners. Overall the car setup should help keep the car driving in the same predictable fashion. If you simply remove weight and do not account for it (alignment) you can have a bit of a balance issue while cornering. Otherwise it should be very similar and just a bit quicker when you're getting on the gas. Now if you know how to carry your speed you'll feel the difference at corner exit.

I drive my gutted E46 m3 (2600 lbs) on the street and track. Feels like the car is a feather now. So much more fun to drive.
