This is exactly the issue I had which ultimately required replacing the pump. We tried the relay first, no luck, then the pump. Dealer charged $1900 for the pump and $1100 labor... but I didn't want to take on this job and mess it up! Plus you get a two year warranty from the dealer. BTW, my issues started at around 43K miles though I didn't get it finally diagnosed correctly and fixed until 46K miles.

Do the SMG pumps last over 100k?
I have 106k never had a pump problem but had the clutch fork fail around 80k

I am at 109K almost 110K with original pump.

But I pdf'ed the DIY just in case. Too big to attach here. If someone is willing to host, I can send it to them.

I paid $2500 or so to replace my pump at the dealer...sold the car to a friend who has gone about 20k miles without any problems so far

Default Same junk goin' on here

71k miles. SMG pump just died. Goes in and out of neutral. Dealer quotes $3400 for fix.

Can someone please repost the DIY pump replacement or a link to the original one.

Thanks for all your help!
