Excellent choice in beer and tools. I'm constantly reaching into my bike box for tools when working on this car. I've recently done a lot of this stuff to my car, well done sir. Looking forward to the respray results.

The body work is making me nervous. There are a few spots with will need some reworking and the hood needs it badly. There are a few spots in the back that could use some attention too but they could just as well be skipped. But it will be in the body shop anyway... ![]() ![]() I'd love to host another BBQ this summer. Classes end last week of May. ![]() |

Excellent thread!
I don't understand. Why did you have so much water to displace?

Had the bushings pressed this week and put things back together with the front end. Took my time and had no issues.

My LCAs didn't come with new locking hex nuts so I had my other car at the dealer already
![]() The center ball joint that connects the LCS to the subframe is a 22mm nut, PN 31106774714 You'll need 2. For the ball joint that connects the LCA to the steering knuckle it's an 18mm and PN 32216769539 2 of those also. To tighten either of these to spec it helps to use a jack to put some upward pressure on the joint so it won't just spin when you tighten it down. Torque specs: - Stabilizer bar strut links: 44 ft-lb This can only be done with a thin 16mm wrench to hold the ball of the end link so the nut can be tightened. I use a Park tool made for working on bikes. - LCA to subframe: 62 ft-lbs but good luck getting a torque wrench on either of the LCA balljoint nuts. - LCA to steering knuckle: 48 ft-lbs See note above. I get it tight and use a new locking nut. - Lollipop: 34 ft-lbs Easy to get a torque wrench on these. - Front sway to subframe(bushing brackets): 16 ft-lbs. Easy to get to. - Tie rod to steering knuckle: 26 ft lbs. Easy to get to. If you haven't done the front suspension but want to tackle this keep in mind I've done thins with only battery operated power tools and in my driveway. My creeper sucks and I'm old and have a bad back and wear progressive glasses. I will say that it helps tremendously that I've taken nearly the entire front end apart. Bumper, wheel well liners, front facia, headlights, errything. Break it down into individual tasks and label everything.

Assuming you are going with new headlights, I would head with DEPO or DJ Auto and immediately do the FX-R projector conversion. PO did that to my car and the lights are amazing.
