This is absolutely amazing.
I've had cat cams for the past two years and made absolutely amazing power with them. Car runs flawlessly and makes 368.5whp/289wtq, and she was a daily for 30k miles on them and as expected they look like they're fresh out of the box. In Lebanon many hill climb cars use cat cams with great success not a single beat missed. Good luck guys!

Could someone enlighten me as to why anyone would chose a milder 280/272 over the 288/280? Why go through all the hassle and expense and not get the most power out of it? Is there a drive-ability concern with the hotter cams? Do you sacrifice bottom end for top end, or something like that?

If one chooses to not get new followers/shafts etc., and just purchase cams (along with seals and whatever else) I assume these cams can drop in without any other modifications?

People aren’t getting that much more power out of the 288/280 cams 5-10 at most and it comes with a lot more tuning hurdles. As well as with 280/272 new followers are recommended but with 288/280 they’re much more needed. Obviously that all depends on mileage and condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There is definitely more stress and wear from higher lifts and durations of 288/280, I think their onramps are cut steeper. You need to replace followers and maybe springs/retainers to avoid valve float if you want to run high rpm (costs add up). Car sounds meaner, so if you are in cali trying to fly "under the radar", that is tougher. You definitely need an airbox to run 288/280 to take advantage of them, while 280/272, you could get away with not having one. Tuning wise, not every shop has success getting the max out of 288/280, but if tuned right, they do better at low/mid/high range than 280/272, not just high.
