Default Newbie questions

Hello all just purchased 17 m3, stone metallic track pack and pretty much every other package available except for roof,wanted the carbon look. Anyway, new to BMW and was wondering about break in period and any other tips or knowledge anyone could send my way!! Thanks

2000km is the break in period
I've heard engine is at 80% power until 1st break in service, and that launch control is disabled until then.

Not true, the engine is the same before and after breakin.

As with any engine, vary the rpms all the time, heat cycles to break in more so than mileage IMO. Don't allow it to sit in traffic and heat up. Take it for a drive, get it to operating temp, rev it out, let it spin back down on it's own. Bring it home, let it cool down to ambient temp, repeat a few times, break in complete and drive it like you want. Get the oil changed at 1200 miles.
