Default Advice needed: Should I purchase this salvage e93 M3

Need some advice from the community to see if this is a rationale purchase / good buy/good deal.

I currently own a manual e46 M3 coupe and a zhp convertible that I essentially use as my daily (love driving both cars).

I was browsing through cars (which is what I tend to do in my free time sometimes) and came across this ad which I was considering as my summer project:

https://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/c...875840101.html

I normally wouldn't really have the budget or the will to spend money on a clean title e93 M3. However, i'm thinking I could sell my zhp convertible and add some additional money to hop into this one.

I'm not too concerned about the body work as I have a shop that could help me fix it for a decent price. What I'm more concerned about are the engine issues that he has described:

"Runs and yard drives, but there is a CEL on, and car runs a bit rough. Codes indicate cam sensor and/or a bad coil pack."

I was thinking of purchasing this for about 11k and putting another 2 to 3k to fix it so essentially have a decent condition e93 m3 for 14k out the door.

The seller claims that this could be a coil pack, but I'm certain it's not just that if all cylinders are misfiring.

My question is do you think this is worth the hassle to get into especially given that these engines are fairly complex? is around 14K a stellar deal for a salvage e93 M3. If it turns out to be something more than just a simple fix to the engine, I could potentially be dealing with a headache. Should I just be content with the current cars I have?

Would love to hear the broader community's thoughts/advice.

I would not touch this. You can get a clean titled not damaged car for not much more, maybe with higher miles. This, no matter how little you pay for it and subsequent repairs - will run you about $20K possibly more - and that is IF (and that's a big if) the engine is ok, and not some junk with busted TBAs and last leg bearings. And after all that, its a salvage title car. And you want to sell your perfectly fine E46 vert for this? RUN.
