Just do both at the same time while you're under there, unless the sensor for bank two had been replaced recently.

Honestly, I have no idea what has and hasn't been done to the car. I just bought it about 3 months ago and it came with no records.

You're technically supposed to replace in pairs. Not sure if it's an official 'rule' or anything, but it's always highly recommended. The dealer would have replaced 'em in pairs - and if one is bad, more than likely the other is.

www.bimmerparts.com then go to the 'specials' link. They will ship it out quickly and it's the ABSOLUTE cheapest place to get o2 sensors. Please do NOT listen to the people who say "buy only bosch." Why? Because NTK manufacturers O2 sensors for bosch (for this car at least...) Spend the extra $30+ per sensor on a bosch simply gets you a bosch box.
