Thanks, Alex.

Reviving this thread because I just recently got into the coding scene. Did my first code just now and set my lights to acknowledge when I lock/unlock car. Subsequently also turns my clown light on. No alarm equipped.

Anyway, what's the setting so that I could turn my sidemarkers to always on when I turn my headlights on? I believe the default for US cars is that the sidemarkers are only used for turn signal indicators, but i prefer the euro style where these sidemarkers stay on and blink if you use the turn signal indicator.

Is that what the OP is referring to?

-Euro sidemarkers - this disables the orange corner lights as running lights, they'll only work as turn signals, so no orange corners with the headlights on.

To be clear I'm referring to rectangular lights located beneath the rear view mirror and not the corner lights immediately next to the headlights.

Don’t think there’s an option for that.
That particular line is referring to the corner lights (next to headlights). US is always on. Euro is only for blinks.

To anyone that would know off hand, is there a tutorial on coding a new LCI into the car? I have the recent LCI upgrade and looking to swap it into my 02 with the original LCI...

Is there anyone in NYC/NJ area that you guys would recommend for chassis-side coding? In particular, hoping to get the following done:

- CSL oil level display
- Triple blink turn signals
- Universal windows open
- Speedometer error correction (eh, maybe)

Question- got an 04 M3 with SMG. Using PA Soft 1.4.

1. Been trying to get into the IKE with no avail. It can read the EEPROM, but when I jump into ‘Coding Data’ and try to pull up the checkbox screen, it won’t do it; says there’s no coding data.

2. The bigger issue is that I was trying to do the speedo and engine temp mods yesterday and messed something up. I read the eeprom and used the hex editor to change the hex for the speedo, then flashed the new hex file back. All I got was ‘PPPPP.’ I’ve seen that before. So I pulled up an IKE EEPROM file from a month or so ago and flashed it back to have the “original” i modified EEPROM file back in the IKE. Well now the SMG shift number blinks constantly, dings at me, and shifts into N when I sit for too long. Also the PDC no longer works. But when the car is just On (not started), it shifts from R to 1 without an issue, stays solid, and when in R, the PDC works. I’m wondering if it’s because it’s an “old” EEPROM file? I have an appt at the stealership later this week bc I am nervous I f-Ed something big up and I don’t want to mess with the SMG. I already pulled the fuses for the SMG and put them back in bc I’d heard that would reset it- it didn’t.

If anyone has thoughts on what might work I’d be much obliged. TIA!
