Default Service engine light on.. Bay Areas SF

Hey guys,

I am hoping to get some local people to chime in on the debatable issue I am having..
Car info
05 with 41k
Oil change every 7.5k
Daily driver, before was mostly freeway, now i'm driving more local..

I just got my oil change done at Phaedrus, and they suggested I get inspection II done. ( They did not reset service on the dash ) The last time I did my oil change at the dealership they said i don't need Inspection II until around 49k-50k.

Just yesterday my Service Engine soon light went on. Does this signal for Inspection II now?

Thank you in advance!

+1.. SES light usually means emissions related, but that could be anything from a bad sensor to your VANOS acting up.
