Default Any DIY instruction or pdf manual for Dinan SC?

A year ownership of my 98 m3/2/5 has taught me a lot about the stewardship of an older car. It has helped me learned a lot about wrenching and, especially the joy of working on my car. Im still working slowly to get my car to where I want it to be. Eventually I would like to squeeze a little more power from my car while keeping it civil and street legal in Cali. From readings in the forums, Dinan seems to be the only legit option. Before I make the leap, I would like to know if I have the skill set to do this myself but canít find any DIYs or manuals on Dinan SC install.

Anyone have a good source to install instruction?

Michael

The instructions are fairly useless in my opinion, but here they are posted below. A complete ready to go kit you can have installed in a weekend.

I sell refurbished Dinan kits if and when you become serious. Most of the kit is assembled and includes a PnP Dinan tuned ecu.

You absolutely can. That instruction sheet makes it look insanely time consuming, but it really isn't. There are a number of things to just flat out ignore (like DO NOT cut up your radiator plastics) and skip all the drilling into the shock tower to mount the cruise control. There are better ways to do the job.

While we're on the subject, what do you think about adding an intercooler to the mix? I feel like I remember hearing people complain about heat soak with these. I personally would be super pumped on the idea of an intercooled Dinan sc IF it were something that had minimal heat soak. Like, able to run 20-30 minute track sessions without problems.

Unless you have a supercharger kit already, I wouldn't bother. I'd go straight to turbo. (what I should have done from the get go...)

But if you're dead set on doing it. RMS (Race Marque Systems) sells an after cooler for that application. It only fits kits that use Dinan or RMS mounting brackets, so it won't work on VF... It's an air to water cooler and works very well.

No turbo in CA, and the RMS setup I’m not a huge fan of. You’ll get more gains and consistent power with flex fuel.

Yea unfortunately there's no CARB legal turbo options (that I'm aware of) although yes a turbo S52 sounds pretty fun.

There's only one CARB legal turbo kit, MechTech. One pops up every 5 years or so. Total junk though.
