hmmmm.....
All cars adapt... the SMG will have additional adaptations for the clutch operation etc but that should not be affected. The adaptations are not configurable the computer makes these decisions based on fuel, air density, air temperature etc. Aftermarket software will reset the base fuel and spark trim but will not touch the adaptations since these are computed on the fly.

Disclaimer: To my knowledge the adaptation values cannot be configured. The manner in which it is calculated may be configurable.

Got my appointment with BMW of Fairfax. Not sure why they needed me to bring the car back in considering the DME was reprogrammed last September, but they told me I would get a refund, so I took it in. I asked about a loaner/rental, I was told, "we don't offer rentals for maintenance that takes less than 2 hours." They said it would take 1.5 hrs. Funny how I was charged over 2 hours of labor when I first had the work done last September.

My car also came back unwashed. I guess it doesn't help that I have "GetBMWParts.com" (Tischer) stickers on my car.

Should we get a sticker under the hood from the dealer confirming the recall? I asked about it, but the SA said she hadn't heard of that.

No stickers are placed under the hood.

Generally they'll only give loaners if you purchased your car from that particular dealership.
