Feel how hot the charger gets after sitting in the outlet (idle) for an hour.
If it is noticably warm: it will drain your battery (in a few weeks or so).
if it is hot: throw it away before your car catches on fire.

Good advice right there. One thing I hate about these plug in style USB adapters is the LED light that most (if not all) come with. Its particularly bad at night. Very distracting. I don't want to "see" my USB adapter in my peripheral vision. I get that the light is there to tell you that it's recieving power and to remind you that it's plugged in, but I will know that its got power when I plug my device in and see that it's charging.

I just bought this from eBay. Forum member said it was flat enough to close the lid and doesn’t have that indicator light most come with.
