I've made several attempts to get my windshield washers to work. When I got the car, the pump was shot, had it replaced, washers worked fine. Since then the washers stopped working again, and I'm 99% sure the hose is kinked in the area that it bends upward into the hood to connect to the plumbing for the jets. From what I've read it's pretty common for it to kink there, but I didn't find a solution. I was thinking of just getting some new rubber tubing and splicing it into the area that's kinked. I can feel it inside the wrapping that's holding the tubing and wiring and it's pretty flattened out. Some fluid does squirt out, but barely makes the bottom of the windshield. Anyone tried this splicing idea, or any other remedy for this problem with any success? Thanks in advance.

I've never had that issue but luckily for you it's in a very accessible place and isn't hard to fix. Not to mention if you need parts, those few are reasonably priced.
Is it possible your nozzle(s) is just clogged with polish, wax, dirt or some other type of debris? Or is it a possibility that the washer hoses are not sitting correctly underneath the washer grille and causing the kink? |

Well, as often happens here, being 99% sure of something usually means the 1% wins out. I pulled back the wrapping on the tubing, and there's no kink up by the hood hinge area. I guess I'm going to have to get my hands dirty and dig a little deeper.

The kink straightens out when you open the hood.. usually it will squirt fine with the hood open, and just dribble with the hood shut. Some very carefully placed tie-wraps can put it in a position where it won't kink (you need a big loop where it folds itself over when the hood is closed.) BTDT.
