it has something to do with the weather patterns, or prhaps reading entrails, or tea leaves... or something equally as archane.

or perhaps it has to do with a dart board :nixweiss:

the only thing we understand for sure is that there is NO rhyme or reason to their decisions at all.

I'm guessing it ultimately comes down to your dealer's relationship with BMW NA. For something like Lotus white, I would guess it takes some palm greasing all the way to BMW AG. More about who you know than how much.

I also think that those people ordering "barf-o-rama" color combos like Phoenix Yellow/Imola and Phoenix Yellow/Laguna that ruined it for us all. I don't think it used to be as hard until BMW started to get annoyed at the ugly combos "ruining the brand name/image".

Semi OT: What exterior color would go best with Lotus Anyway? Some sort of dark blue? Light blue vert? I dunno

You don't have access to Individual options Bully. You may find a dealership that will attempt to order you a vehicle in an Individual color or order you a vehicle with an Individual interior and they may be successful...but no where in the US system is the Individual program plain and simple you are wrong.

It's not my point of view why don't you try contacting BMW North America and asking them about the Individual program...post the results.

Dealerships consider them Individual cars...LOL

You have never heard of BMW NA disapproving vehicles because you are simply uneducated in the Individual program.

You truely don't understand how many "Special Orders" i've assisted folks on this board with. I'd suggest that you do that search...but it seems you'd rather spend your time arguing a loosing battle with me.
Naseem.....I have been trying to order an 06 M3 with certain colors.....the ext. paint is gonna be Ruby Red II...Approved, Int. color, Plantium...approved the trim I picked was antricate, like a black finish with some grey swirls...this they did not approve...they said I have to go with some other color that I cant even find how it looks, it's no where on the web-site....If you can give some advise on how to get the trim I want that would be great. When I get the name of the one they did approve I will post it here tommrow .....Thanks Mike

You mean they gave you a trim color that you had to take?

Based on my theory that you find out which ones they "normally" do, I looked on the Individual site and, sure enough, the trim that they normally pair up with platinum is anthracite birch -- the trim you want! :nixweiss: So, WTF? I think this gets back to "no individual trim wood for US customers." And I'm not so sure it's because of BMWNA, either...BMWAG in Germany may be the "bad" guys... :nixweiss:

And I'll tell you what I've told others -- you can get the anthracite birch trim from Steve Diamond at Eurobuyers. But (1) Two grand, and (2) you have to swap the trim out DIY or pay somebody to do it.

Good luck.

Mike...Hit me up man on PM.

I'm glad things are going well for you so far.

If it's Malt Eucalyptus...run fast away from it.

Look at the first page and copy the code for one of the interior trims you like and see if it works for you mike.

I like the Popular Natural wood, Birch Anthracite and the Piano (painted black) Individual trims.

Platinum with the brushed aluminum or ZCP trim is awesome as well.

It's BMW NA.

I can have any Individual trim I want ordering through Individual... Military/ Diplomatic sales...that answers it.
