On the SMG intake do u guys grain the SMG oil before removing?
Coz i think it's going to leak all over if i'm not mistaken.
I'm very close to change my starter also, so i just wanna make sure if it's goin to leak the SMG oil or not.
Thanks in advance.

Was just getting ready to respond and ya beat me to it...

That was my car. Very little drained out, but Francis did we do anything to prevent it from leaking? Like tilt the hose up or anything? That was awhile ago when we changed out the TPS...

No, we didn't do anything. The small leak came from the bottom of the manifold. Little/nothing came from the hose.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but this is a good DIY and I am having a problem directly related.

My post is here:
http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=380821

Essentially, I am trying to figure out how the bottom drain hose / vent hose at the back of the airbox is supposed to connect... I can plug it in and I feel a slight snap into place, but the connection can still move / rotate. I am not sure if it's supposed to lock in place so it doesn't move or if it should be allowed to rotate.

I wouldn't have started a new thread had I found this first, but my initial searches came up empty.

Thanks again!

Can you go into more detail about how to remove the SMG hose. I'm having a hell of a time with that guy.
