nh - thx.... it's like watching a kid grow I guess... I see 'helga' everyday...... so I don't notice the changes on a day to day basis. a few visits to the Rx and some finishing school and she'll be ready for a track flogging

Some really good DA air today.... oh that little 3.2 sings under the right conditions..... I can see why some of you guys swear for this motor..... when it's running right it's pretty good.

I'm half tempted to throw my S50 intake mani on just to see the difference...... can anyone comment if it's worth the effort, if I'm going to only keep this mill in this car for the next several months and a few track events? thx..... I don't want to expend un-necessary energy for little gains.

this gmw ran high 11's on shake down passes before crash...... top rad hose split - then hard to control car with coolant all over engine/tires...... hope he was OK .

Since my vorshlag parts are delayed.... I continue to work on the s52 engine in prep for 1st ax in a couple of weeks:

S50 man swap in progress






Injector svc ensues: Performed the home-fuel inj flush with aeresol tb cleaner and 12v to injector servo..... new pintles caps filters orings....






stock injector filters after 180k miles...... rebuild kit on order...... going to swap fuel filter as well.

I think the manifold swap works best when you do cams, 3.5" MAF and headers etc... There's a good series of write ups on Moto IQ about it, I think they got up to like 275 whp or something like that? I'm sure there are guys on here who can comment from experience. That clutch pedal looks cool... I changed the bushings to UCC white bushings on mine and it was better for like 3 months, then right back to squeaky sloppiness. Maybe I'll try one of these when I do the clutch and shifter rebuild.

Nate- thx for the tip. Might find some cheap used cams if they come up for sale. Hopefully I see some decent gains with existing parts: ported Dinan TB, Long tube headers, TC TB removed, CAI , and dinan tune. Also have a u/d crank pulley I can throw on.... (not my fav long term part...) but 9 hp is 9 hp.
Im throwing some parts i had lying around here.

Cblock- vendor delays of swap bits is forcing me to get the 6 cyl tuned up. 1st autocross in a couple wks.

This is the last article in that series. They got up to 243 at the wheels. They were assuming a 15% drive line loss based on their first run compared to stock crank HP, which would make the 243 wheel about 285 at the crank.

Tsmith - It looks like the turner stage 2 would pull this together nicely:
s50 intake (installing now)
Ported TB (have already)
CAI (have already)
Headers (have already)
U/D pulley (installing now)

NEW BITS NEEDED for stage 2 -
24lb inj, my stock inj are just at the edge per article..... might add afr to check this
3.5" mas air meter
shark inj tune
..... per the article the motor only gained 10hp up top with s50 instake only.... then really woke up with the larger MAS and inj and tune..... and made up for most of tq loss down low w/ tune and above mods.

installing clutch pedal this am......
* clutch pedal geometry appears to be same as stock plastic.... so I guess the add'l 'leverage' noted by seller is just due to stiffness and feel?
* will also change clutch master cyl while I'm at it..... it was making noise as well, and looked beat and weepy.

More parts arriving.... so tonight I get to rebuild my fuel injectors and install the fuel filter:

fuel filter: (perhaps the largest fuel filter I've ever installed in a car)...
