Default TTFS found my S/C M3 90whp!!!

Hello friends. Would you like to hear a story? Ohh you do? Good.

This is the true tale of how a kind wizard found me almost 90whp from my beaten and battered M3. Most of this is in my build journal so I wont bore you too much with backstory. Short version is: Hero (me) buys car in FL with 33k miles and an AA stage 1 gen 6 blower (Small HKS blower. Not the big Rotrex that TTFS is making stupid amounts of HP with.). Hero drives car heroically for around a yr but then in surprise twist breaks ringlands in 3 cylinders. Cue kind wizard (Frank of TTFS). He builds motor, gets me started and driving. Then the fun begins.

Kind Wizard summons me to shop after 450 miles of break-in driving. My noble steed can cruise quite well at this point but is surging at idle and stalling all over the place. Wizard waves magic laptop over car and fixes this with ease. He also loads a basic tune for further break in after I complain of surging under power. The tune (which I'm pretty sure he could do in his sleep at this point) clears up the surging. The car pulls VERY nicely and runs MUCH smoother. After doing an oil change there and checking over my install work I am cleared to put another 500 miles on it.

After about 4 days and 600 miles I return to the shop for some light dyno passes to further evaluate the health of my fresh motor/tune. I was making bets with my friends about the HP # before hand. I lost these bets..... I shot WAAAAY low. You see back in 2012 when I first picked up the car and it was still healthy I attended a dyno day at Frank's old shop. My best pass then saw 371 whp and a hair over 265 ft/lbs.

So I'm thinking mild gains from there.. right? I mean I have changed nothing in my setup except adding a full supersprint exhaust. And of course the fine Wizard's baseline conservative tune. I knew there would be gains, so I guessed it'd put down 420hp. All of my friends guessed more. The first pass saw 458 whp and 300ft/lbs.

This is in 90 degree temps and 95% humidity. I was blown away by this witchcraft. Thats an 87hp gain!!! I know the exhaust helped a bit but I have to give the bulk of the credit to Frank and his stupendous tuning abilities. Note the extreme linear HP delivery, the mesa like plateau of the torque, the rich buttery smoothness of the 12:1 A/F. Miles better then the humps and lumps in the HP delivery of the original canned tune from 2012. The best part is, Frank isn't finished. He tells me that he has kept the timing very conservative and that with a bit more break in and some fine calibrations he believes he can pull 20-30 more whp out of it.

I cannot thank Frank enough. W/O his help I probably wouldnt have an M3 any more. I'd also like to thank my friends Shane and Tim. W/O them I'm not sure I'd have gotten the engine out or back in. Also, thank you to Justin for the pointers since you had just been through this whole ordeal with your car. And thanks to Kyle for all his hard work up at TTFS. Everyone involved with TTFS is a class act. They are all honest, knowledgeable, and generous. If you are looking for ANY F/I or tuning help I wouldn't go anywhere else.

And now as reward for reading my dumb story... dyno porn

You can make a custom flange to connect it to your stock header with JB weld.

Sound is an 8/10, I was expecting it to sound like a V8 since its a V8 exhaust. It doesn't, anybody know why this is? Does it have to do with how I installed it?

Well, I've gotta be honest...started to read the text, but couldn't handle the chosen wording, and seemingly douche-level vocabulary. Skipped to video, sounds nice. Congrats on your gains.
