Default My 98 Dakar Yellow "build" thread

Been busy with other stuff and didn't post much updates.

Car is done and driving. Need to finalize the suspension/spacer setup so the 255's don't rub in front.

Ill try to post some sound clips of the supersprint/AA/strömung/RK tune sound.

Looking good, my man!

What size and offset are your wheels? Any rubbing on your front coilovers?

8.5 +40-41 don't remember exactly.

No rubbing the coilover, only slight rubbing on fender but I have 10mm spacers. Might go dow to 5mm.

Car is out and running. Getting it aligned this week.

Got a cheap set of E46 m3 csl front brakes.

Will mount the rotors with the caliper braket and e36 m3 caliper.

315mm to 345mm rotors

Slight rubbing but my buddy told me that putting the anti rattle spring will pull the caliper further in and shouldn't rub anymore(hopefully).

I am surprised a 17 inch wheel would fit those brakes. Will the caliber take off any balance weights?

No they wont as they are more in front of the wheel.

It only cleared with e36 m3 pads. Does not clear with e46 m3 csl pads. They are slightly different and caliper sits a bit more towards the interior of the wheel thus the extra 2-3 mm.

I used masking tape to see if it touches.

Clearance is tight. It will get bigger when I pump the brakes and the caliper fully compressed.

Well csl brakes are not bolt on.

Oem braket touches the rotor, had it trimmed, worked good but then oem e36 m3 caliper touches the rotor.

Removed it, and put back stock brakes.

Alignment done:

Pictures first day out of storage :

Also, video of exhaust.
