That sure is a lot of underutilized rear tires.

new Type R doesn't count because it's a Coupe.

I cannot believe the left out:

1. Current Audi RS3... Like the hottest hot hatch ever with impeccable build quality
2. Mercedes A45 AMG
3. Subaru WRX STI hatch
4. CRX generation II
5. Civic Type R first generation

Some are awd and the ae86 was rwd. I kind of want the ugly Sunny gti-r and the first gen Civic type r as a fun beater dd. Great on gas yet fun as fk.

Woah! Seeing that article and some of those hatches reminds me of the "old days" and how things in general move much slower. Things seemed to gather momentum when 4 valve heads made their appearance, lunch-box sized cell phones gave way to brick sized cell phones, Ferrari introducing the flappy paddle gearbox in F1, and of course, the internet.

I had a 1984 Civic CRX just like this one. It was my first new car and the first CRX I ever saw. The dealer had brought it to me to do aftermarket work on the car and I bought it right there. I put 140k on that car and it had a monster hifi in it. I also used to auto-x that car with great success. Loved that thing.
