Default 98 Estoril/Blk Sedan Front suspension, Oil Pan, Rear Suspension overhaul, plus goods

Gentlemen on this forum contacted me regarding doing a full suspension overhaul on his 98 Estoril Sedan. Problem was, he is located in San Francisco, and I'm in San Diego (8 hours).

After talking via email/PM/text/phone calls, we agree'd on a price/parts list/mod list, and pickup/drop off of the vehicle.

This Sunday I drove to Bakersfield, CA (half way) and picked up the car with a friend of mine, while we drove an e46 M3 that I had just completed a rear subframe reinforcement for. The owner said it was cool to drive up there, and we dropped off the e46 m3 on the way back to San Diego. (He was in LA area).

It worked out for everyone involved, and I finally got started worked on the car.

Car is stock, engine wise, except debaffling the air box, and a Stromung exhaust. Has a very nice set of retro-fitted headlights, BBS RGR rims (17x9 with 255/40 Star Specs), and a set of AST 4200s with Vorshlag camber plates.

Let the pictures commence

Getting the car on jackstands

REALLY dirty, but damn I love these rims

Clean black interior, just a little dirty

Custom, simple stereo system focusing on sound quality

AST 4200s

Stromung

Stock except suspension

Damn I love these headlights

Started the overhaul by undoing the e-brake cables

HQ kick panels

dropped the exhaust next

half removed the x-brace, and heated up the 6 exhaust manifold studs

Still sheered one of the studs. Time to head to the exhaust shop tomorrow to get them oxytorched out.

Dropped the rear hangers after removing the exhaust

Removed the heat shield as well

Got the car back on the ground, ready to go to the exhaust shop, so I can move forward.

This overhaul will be done at a much slower pace, as there are some surprises along the way, and still waiting for a TON of parts to get to my house.

I got the first order today though. Obviously not all his, but subframe bushings, diff bushings, swaybar endlinks, reinforcement plates, e21 trans mounts w/ cup enforcements

Til tomorrow's update

Car is awesome, rare example for sure. Did the 255's in the rear need a roll or a spacer?

What are you going with for the bushings, looks like 95A subframe, 75D diff?

Is this primarily a street or track car? Coilovers and tire sizes lead me to think track, but soft bushings all around are saying street.

street/DD with some track/auto-x thrown in...

Great compromise while still doing the job

Awesome stuff. I bought 75D/75D on the diff/subframe mounts, so I'm interested to hear in what this user thinks of those mounts.
